While applying for PAN cards in India, we come across NSDL PAN and UTI PAN. In the end, both the services conclude do the same service. However, not a lot of people know the actual difference between the two. Well, the following article is purely meant for discussing that matter.
Here in this post, we will study the basic differences and characteristics of NSDL PAN and UTI PAN and how the users are affected while applying for either of the services.
Let us start off with NSDL and its basic characteristics.
NSDL (National Securities Depository Limited)
National Securities Depository Limited is a Mumbai based public sector depository which aims for the economic development of India. NSDL was established in 1996 as the first public depository of the nation.
NSDL is an organization promoted by prominent banks and is responsible for the allotment of PAN to the people of the nation. The organization is responsible for creating the PAN and sending it to the user.
NSDL requires about 7-10 days after the application request has been filed for the allotment of PAN. It also requires about a fortnight to deliver the PAN Card to the selected address.
Any citizen of the nation can apply for a PAN Card by filling the dedicated form provided by NSDL on their online website. The payment fees required for completing the form is a mere Rs. 106.
PAN Card information can also be corrected manually on NSDL’s official website. The same charges apply here as well. NSDL also provides reissue of PAN cards on their website.
Now, let us look at the characteristics of UTI or UTIITSL in brief.
UTI (UTI Infrastructure Technology And Services Limited)
UTI Infrastructure Technology And Services Limited is a government based company established in 1993. The idea of the company is to handle the financial sectors of the country.
Just like NSDL, UTI also provides PAN card services throughout the nation. It also takes 7-10 days in estimation to allot a PAN and around a fortnight to deliver it after application of PAN Card has been submitted by the user.
Correction in PAN Card information is also offered by UTI. The same processes follow as they did in NSDL.
The processing fee for application, correction and re-issue of PAN Card is Rs.106/- distinctively.
Both NSDL and UTI provide allotment of PAN Cards throughout India and offer similar customer services in comparison. Both of them charge the same amount and the time to complete the application process or a complaint filed is similar as well.
Both of the organizations are known for following the same process steps and the end result is pretty much the same in terms of quality. However, we recommend users to apply for PAN Cards through the organization that is nearest to their location. NSDL edges on UTI here as it provides more number of branches all over the company as compared to the latter.
So that concludes the article. Write down more differences between the two if there are any in comment section. Also let others know what organization you recommend while filing for a PAN Card down below.
